Look, I've been riding a Schwinn Airdyne upright exercise bike for almost twenty years. This machine does several things right. There are some problems with this machine though. You may want to think about these problems before you buy an Air Dyne. Here they are...
Noise.
This is no silent stationary bike. The resistance comes from turning a big fan. That is one noisy fan. If you want more resistance, you just pedal faster. The faster you pedal, the louder it gets. This isn't the machine for you if you want to watch movies or listen to music as you ride. But, that big fan surely can keep you cooler on hot days!!! Also...
No computer.
Computers on many bikes let you enjoy pre-programmed workout routines. There is no computer on the Airdyne, so you get to build your own workouts. Make sure you realize this lack of computer power. Then again, there's no fancy electronics to break down either...
Why would anyone like this machine? Why do they still sell?
Here's the deal... This is one rugged machine that will last and last with little or no maintenance. It's a simple design that helps you get a great workout at home and it's so simple to use. Simple... but not easy. You can get a total body workout with this machine that is better than machines costing hundreds of dollars more.
It's that dual action design that works your arms and shoulders as well as your legs too. That exercise bike workout using your total body is the fastest way I know to get fit and burn fat.
A Schwinn Airdyne upright exercise bike is a noisy stationary bike with no computer. But this is one rugged machine that just encourages the kind of workouts that get you in shape and fit fast and right at home.
